What is LIFE???

Life is just a 4 letter English word, generally.

According to Wikipedia, life is a characteristic that distinguishes living organisms from those who do not.

“Life”, whenever someone asks you the question ‘What is life?’

You take a deep breathe, random thoughts roam in your mind, you blink your eyes a couple of times, you let out a sigh and say whatever comes to your mind.

When in a group, if the topic of discussion comes to the point “LIFE”, accidently or intentionally, almost everyone in the group switches to silent mode and keeps thinking. And then some go philosophical, some go emotional, some use their sense of humour to hide their thoughts and some say “Yeah, I agree with his/her point”.

To the word ‘LIFE’ everyone has their definitions, depending on how they look at their life or the way their life has shaped up till now.

And while I was thinking about my life, this thought came to my mind.

Life is like a “Mobile Phone”.

As everyone has their ‘own’ mobile phone, they have their ‘own’ life.

Every mobile is not the same, so is Life.

But, every mobile has same set of basic functionalities like,

Contacts, Call Records, Messages, Profile modes, Connectivity, Entertainment, file manager and etc.

Now, I’m just gonna compare the features of mobile phone with ‘Life’, just generally and not specifically.

Phonebook/Contacts

Just like the contacts in your mobile, you have so many people in your life.

Some of them are known to you by birth, some of them were strangers who then became good friends/cool-buddies/best friends/life-partners/enemies/irritators/time-pass friends/ Ex-friends. And some of them are people, who just meet us accidently and leave an impression for the lifetime.

In your life, you have so many things to do, so many things not-to-do. But it’s upto you, to decide what to do and what not-to-do.

Call Records

These are the records of calls; you have dialled, received and missed. Some of them are known and rest are unknown.

Similarly in your life, you have the people whom you have missed and who has missed you. You have memories of people you’ve spoken, met and spent time with.

You have people, who spoke to you, made several attempts to interact with you, reach to you and people who really really care for you, no matter what happens.

And the people who are really close to you (like speed dial no’s).

Messages

Just as you have sent messages, received messages, drafts and some messages in My folders in your mobile, in your life you’ve said many things, heard many things, many things are left un-said and some special moments, words which occupy space in your mind which brings smiles to your face whenever you remember them.

Profile Modes

You have different profile modes in your mobile. Similarly, in your life you go through different ‘Moods’’.

Normal mood, abnormal mood, happy mood, very very happy mood, sad mood, depressed mood, upset mood.

And some special personalised moods. Like, I-hate-my-life mood, I-love-my-life mood, I-feel-good-mood, I-don’t-care-mood, I-can-do-every-damn-thing mood and I’m-good-for-nothing mood and etc.

Connectivity

There are different ways of connecting other devices with your mobile phone.

Bluetooth, GPRS, Wi-Fi, 3G etc. These are the ways to share and interact with other devices.

Similarly you ‘share’ things with others, ‘accept’ things from others. And some people become “paired” in your life.

Entertainment

Your mobile offers different ways to entertain yourself. Similarly, your life offers you many opportunities to enjoy, loose yourself and let-it-go. All you have to do is, just spot the opportunity and make the most of it.

File Manager

Just like the files, you have the memories that you want to ‘save’, memories that you want to ‘delete’ from your memory. And just like the ‘hidden’ files in your mobile, you have memories, moments, dark secrets that you never want to share with others.

Everyone has problems, worries, regrets and wishes in life.

Make sacrifices, compromises, take your chances, take risks and live your ‘today’ like there is no ‘tomorrow’.

And don’t just define “Life”, live it and make it meaningful.
